Une vis ou un boulon est un type d'élément de fixation caractérisé par une crête hélicoïdale, connue sous le nom de filetage externe ou simplement filet, enroulée autour d'un cylindre. La tête est généralement plus grande que le corps de la vis, ce qui empêche la vis d'être entraînée plus profondément que la longueur de la vis et de fournir une surface d'appui.
