Fluide Serous
En physiologie, le terme fluide séreux ou fluide serosal est utilisé pour divers fluides corporels typiquement jaunes pâles et transparents, et d'une nature bénigne qui remplissent l'intérieur des cavités corporelles. Le fluide séreux provient de glandes séreuses, avec des sécrétions enrichies en protéines et en eau. Le fluide serien peut également provenir de glandes mélangées, qui contiennent à la fois des cellules muqueuses et séreuses. Un trait commun de fluides séreux est leur rôle dans l'aide à la digestion, à l'excrétion et à la respiration. Dans les domaines médicaux, en particulier la cytopathologie, le fluide séreux est synonyme de fluides d'épanchements provenant de diverses caries corporelles. Il existe de nombreuses causes d'effusion qui comprennent l'implication de la cavité par le cancer. L'évaluation de la cytopathologie est recommandée pour évaluer les causes des effusions dans ces cavités.
