Weimar
Weimar est une ville de l'Etat fédéral de Thuringe, en Allemagne. Il est situé entre Erfurt à l'ouest et Jena à l'est, à environ 80 kilomètres au sud-ouest de Leipzig, à 170 kilomètres au nord de Nuremberg et à 170 kilomètres à l'ouest de Dresde. Ensemble avec les villes voisines Erfurt et Jena, elle forme la région métropolitaine centrale de Thuringe avec environ 500 000 habitants, alors que la ville elle-même compte une population de 65 000 habitants. Weimar est bien connue en raison de son grand héritage culturel et de son importance dans l'histoire allemande. La ville était un point focal des Lumières allemandes et abritait les personnages principaux du genre littéraire du classicisme de Weimar, les écrivains Johann Wolfgang von Goethe et Friedrich Schiller. Au 19ème siècle, des compositeurs célèbres comme Franz Liszt ont fait un centre de musique de Weimar et plus tard, des artistes et des architectes comme Henry van de Velde, Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Lyonel Feininger et Walter Gropius sont venus à la ville et ont fondé le mouvement Bauhaus, L'école de design allemande la plus importante de l'entre-deux-guerres.
