Un lexeme (pronuncia (aiuto info)) è un'unità di significato lessicale che esiste indipendentemente dal numero di conclusioni inflessive che può avere o dal numero di parole che può contenere. È un'unità di base di significato e le parole d'ordine di un dizionario sono tutti lexemes. Mettere più tecnicamente, un lexeme è un'unità astratta di analisi morfologica nella linguistica, che corrisponde approssimativamente ad una serie di forme prese da una sola parola. Ad esempio, in lingua inglese, eseguire, eseguire, eseguire e eseguire sono forme dello stesso lexeme, scritte convenzionalmente come RUN.
