Bobina eletromagnética
Uma bobina eletromagnética é um condutor elétrico, como um fio na forma de uma bobina, espiral ou hélice. As bobinas eletromagnéticas são usadas na engenharia elétrica, em aplicações onde correntes elétricas interagem com campos magnéticos, em dispositivos como indutores, eletroímãs, transformadores e bobinas de sensores. Ou uma corrente elétrica é passada através do fio da bobina para gerar um campo magnético, ou, inversamente, um campo magnético externo que varia no tempo através do interior da bobina gera um EMF no condutor. Uma corrente através de qualquer condutor cria um campo magnético circular em torno do condutor devido à lei da Ampere. A vantagem de usar uma forma de bobina é que aumenta a força do campo magnético produzido por uma determinada corrente. Os campos magnéticos gerados pelas voltas de fio separadas passam pelo centro da bobina e adicionam para produzir um campo forte lá. Quanto mais voltas de arame, mais forte o campo produzido. Por outro lado, um fluxo magnético externo em mudança induz uma tensão em um condutor, como um fio, devido à lei de indução de Faraday.
