Un airship de tip blimp sau non-rigid este o aeronavă fără un cadru structural intern sau un chile. Spre deosebire de aeronavele semi-rigide și rigide, centrifugile se bazează pe presiunea gazului de ridicare din interiorul plicului și pe rezistența plicului pentru a-și menține forma.
