Negare
Negarea, în uzul obișnuit de engleză, afirmă că o declarație sau o afirmație nu este adevărată. Același cuvânt, dar și abnegație, este folosit pentru un mecanism de apărare psihologică postulat de Sigmund Freud, în care o persoană se confruntă cu un fapt care este prea inconfortabil să-l accepte și respinge, în loc să insiste că nu este adevărat în ciuda a ceea ce poate fi dovezi copleșitoare. Subiectul poate să folosească: ▪ simpla negare: nega realitatea reală a faptului neplăcut ▪ minimizarea: recunoașteți faptul, dar negați gravitatea lui ▪ proiecția: admiteți atât faptele, cât și seriozitatea, dar respingeți responsabilitatea, dați vina pe cineva sau pe altceva. Conceptul de negare este deosebit de important pentru studiul dependenței. Teoria negării a fost cercetată mai întâi în serios de Anna Freud. A negat clasificarea ca un mecanism al minții imature, deoarece este în conflict cu abilitatea de a învăța și de a face față realității. În cazul în care are loc negarea în mințile mature, este cel mai adesea asociată cu moartea, moartea și violul. Cercetări mai recente au extins semnificativ domeniul de aplicare și utilitatea conceptului.
