Imaginea corporală se referă la sentimentele unei persoane de la estetica și atractivitatea sexuală a propriului corp, care poate fi forțată de alții sau de mediile sociale. Termenul este adesea folosit și în mass-media. În aceste discipline și mass-media nu există o definiție a consensului. Imaginea corporală a unei persoane este considerată, în parte, un produs al experiențelor personale, al personalității și al diverselor forțe sociale și culturale. Sensul unei persoane asupra propriului aspect fizic, de obicei în relație cu alții sau în legătură cu un "ideal" cultural, își poate modela imaginea corporală. Persoana percepția apariției lor poate fi diferită de modul în care alții le percep efectiv.
