Leontodon este un gen de plante asemănătoare păpădie din familia Asteraceae, cunoscută sub numele de hawkbits. Numele lor englez derivă din credința medievală că șoimii au mâncat planta pentru a-și îmbunătăți vederea. Deși inițial numai nativ din Eurasia și Africa de Nord, unele specii au devenit încă stabilite în alte țări, inclusiv Statele Unite și Noua Zeelandă. Cercetările recente au arătat că genul Leontodon în delimitarea tradițională este polifiletic. Prin urmare, fostul subgenus Leontodon Oporinia a fost ridicat la nivel generic. Conform regulilor nomenclature, numele Scorzoneroides are prioritate la nivel generic și, prin urmare, membrii Leontodon subgenus Oporinia au fost transferați la genul Scorzoneroides re-construit.
