CE ÎNSEAMNĂ LAAGER ÎN ENGLEZĂ?
Laager
Un laager, cunoscut și ca un fort de vagon, este o fortificare mobilă realizată din vagoane aranjate într-un dreptunghi, într-un cerc sau altă formă și eventual unite între ele, o tabără militară improvizată. Ammianus Marcellinus, ofițer al armatei romane și istoric al secolului al IV-lea, descrie o armată romană care se apropie de "ad carraginem" când se apropie de o tabără gotică. Istoricii interpretează acest lucru ca un fort de vagon. Printre exemplele istorice notabile se numără husiții, numiți vehicová hradba, cunoscuți sub cuvântul german Wagenburg, tabere în armatele Commonwealth-ului și cazaci polonez-lituaniene, Laage de sud-africani și formațiuni de apărare ale coloniilor americane timpurii, cunoscute drept corraluri. Din războiul blindat al celui de-al doilea război mondial, un laager este o formare a tancurilor sau a altor vehicule blindate, folosite pentru resupply rapid sau pentru realimentare.
