Învăţare
Învățarea este actul de a dobândi cunoștințe, comportamente, aptitudini, valori sau preferințe noi, sau de a modifica și consolida, și poate implica sintetizarea diferitelor tipuri de informații. Abilitatea de a învăța este posedată de oameni, de animale și de unele mașini. Progresul în timp tinde să urmeze curbele de învățare. Învățarea nu este obligatorie; este contextuală. Nu se întâmplă la un moment dat, ci se bazează pe și este modelat de ceea ce deja știm. În acest scop, învățarea poate fi privită ca un proces, mai degrabă decât o colecție de cunoștințe de fapt și de procedură. Învățarea produce schimbări în organism și schimbările produse sunt relativ permanente. Învățarea la om poate să apară ca parte a educației, a dezvoltării personale, a școlarizării sau a instruirii. Poate fi orientat spre obiective și poate fi ajutat de motivație. Studiul modului în care se produce învățarea face parte din psihologia educațională, neuropsihologia, teoria învățării și pedagogia. Învățarea poate să apară ca urmare a obișnuinței sau condiționării clasice, văzută în multe specii de animale sau ca urmare a unor activități mai complexe, cum ar fi jocul, observat numai în cazul animalelor relativ inteligente. Învățarea poate avea loc conștient sau fără conștiență conștientă.
