Un monument este un tip de structură creată în mod explicit pentru a comemora o persoană sau un eveniment important sau care a devenit important pentru un grup social ca parte a amintirii timpurilor istorice sau a patrimoniului cultural sau ca exemplu de arhitectură istorică. Termenul "monument" este adesea aplicat clădirilor sau structurilor care sunt considerate exemple de important patrimoniu arhitectural și / sau cultural.
