Un arhitect este un element în arhitectura clasică, neoclasică și barocă și derivate din acesta, constând dintr-o gabiță, inițial de formă triunghiulară, plasată deasupra structurii orizontale a entablaturii, susținută în mod obișnuit de coloane. Timpanul sau zona triunghiulară din interiorul pedimentului a fost adesea decorat cu sculptură de relief care ilustrează scene din mitologia greacă și romană sau figurile alegorice.
