CE ÎNSEAMNĂ PRESBYTER ÎN ENGLEZĂ?
Prezbiter
Presbiterul din Noul Testament se referă la un lider în congregațiile creștine locale, care de multe ori nu se disting clar de episkopi, presbiteri referindu-se la bătrânii obișnuiți și la episkopi care se referă exclusiv la funcția de episcop. În utilizarea modernă, el este astfel diferit de episcop și sinonim cu preotul. În principiu, folosirea protestantă, termenul nu este văzut ca referindu-se la un membru al preoției și sunt folosite termeni precum ministru, pastor și bătrân.
Definiția presbyter în dicționarul Engleză
Prima definiție a presbiterii în dicționar este un bătrân al unei congregații în Biserica creștină timpurie. O altă definiție a presbiterii este un funcționar care este subordonat unui episcop și are funcții administrative, de predare și sacerdotală. Presbiterul este, de asemenea, un bătrân învățător.
