Un expert este o persoană care oferă mass-media opinia sau comentariul său asupra unei anumite domenii de specialitate despre care este bine informat sau considerat un savant în zona respectivă. Termenul a fost aplicat tot mai mult personalităților populare. În anumite cazuri, ea poate fi folosită și într-o manieră derogatorie, ca echivalent politic al ideologului.
