Săptămâna de lucru și weekend-ul sunt acele părți complementare ale săptămânii dedicate muncii și odihnei. Săptămâna de lucru legală sau săptămâna de lucru reprezintă partea din săptămâna de șapte zile dedicată muncii. În majoritatea țărilor occidentale este de luni până vineri; weekend-ul este o perioadă de timp, inclusiv sâmbăta și duminica. Unii oameni prelungesc weekend-ul și vineri noaptea. În unele tradiții creștine, duminica este "Ziua Domnului" și ziua de odihnă și închinare.
