The definition of naguapate in Central America means annual creeping grass of Central America, with pubescent stems, compound leaves, round at the apex, and yellow flowers, in terminal clusters. It grows on dry and open hills, especially in pine forests. It is used in traditional medicine. En el diccionario castellano naguapate significa hierba rastrera anual centroamericana, de tallos pubescentes, hojas compuestas, redondas en el ápice, y flores amarillas, en racimos terminales. Crece en cerros secos y abiertos, sobre todo en bosques de pino. Se utiliza en la medicina tradicional.
