Un voluto è un ornamento spirale, scorrevole che forma la base dell'ordine ionico, che si trova nella capitale della colonna ionica. È stato successivamente incorporato nell'ordine corinzio e nelle capitali della colonna composita. Quattro sono normalmente presenti su una capitale ionica, otto su capitoli compositi e versioni più piccole sulla capitale di Corinto. La parola deriva dalla voluta latina. È stato suggerito che l'ornamento è stato ispirato dalla curva di un corno di un ram, o forse è stato derivato dalla spirale naturale dell'ovulo di una specie comune di trifoglio nativo della Grecia. In alternativa, può essere semplicemente di origini geometriche. L'ornamento è utilizzato come elemento dell'architettura rinascimentale e barocca ed è una decorazione comune nel design dei mobili, argento e ceramica.
