Embothrium
Embothrium este un gen de două până la opt specii din familia de plante Proteaceae, originară din sudul Americii de Sud, din Chile și adiacentă în vestul Argentinei și sudul Peru; genul apare la sud de Tierra del Fuego. Denumirile comune includ Firebush-ul chilian în limba engleză, Notro, Ciruelillo, Fosforito în chilian spaniol. Acestea sunt arbuști mari sau arbori care cresc până la 10-20 m înălțime, cu un trunchi de până la 70 cm diametru. E. coccineum și, probabil, alții, este, de asemenea, foarte predispus la suckering și plantele neadministrate formează adesea plantații densă de lăstari suckering multe. Frunzele sunt veșnic verzi, ocazional foioase în zone reci, 5-12 cm lungime și 2-4 cm lățime. Florile sunt produse în buchete dense, roșii strălucitoare, tubulare, de 2,5-4,5 cm lungime, împărțite în patru lobi lângă vârful care refacă expunerea stâlpilor și stilului.
