Pompanos / pɒmpənoʊ / sunt pești marine în genul Trachinotus din familia Carangidae. Pompano se poate referi, de asemenea, la diferiți membri, asemănători, ai Carangidae sau la ordinul Perciformes. Aspectul lor este adânc și asemănător cu macrou, de obicei argint și fără dinți, cu o coadă furcată și o bază îngustă. Dintre cele 20 de specii descrise, cele mai multe sunt evaluate ca alimente.
