Colocasia is a genus of more than 25 species of angiosperms of the family Araceae. It originates in the tropical and subtropical regions of Asia. Colocasia es un género de más de 25 especies de angiospermas de la familia Araceae. Es originario de las regiones tropicales y subtropicales de Asia.

Definition of colocasia in the Spanish dictionary

The definition of colocasia in the dictionary is an herb of the family Aráceas, native to India, with large leaves, oval shaped and waved by its margin, and rose flower. It has a fleshy and very pungent root when it is fresh, but if it is cooked it loses bad taste, and it is used as food, as well as leaves. En el diccionario castellano colocasia significa hierba de la familia de las Aráceas, originaria de la India, con las hojas grandes, de forma aovada y ondeadas por su margen, y la flor de color de rosa. Tiene la raíz carnosa y muy acre cuando está fresca, pero si se cuece pierde el mal gusto, y se usa como alimento, igualmente que las hojas.
