Les produits financiers les plus vendus en Allemagne utilisent le dollar américain, les obligations d'État ou le DAX comme sous-jacent.

Waren und Finanzwerte aller Art können Basiswerte für Derivatgeschäfte sein. Die Palette reicht bei Waren von Schweinebäuchen über Schlachtvieh, Zucker, Wolle, Bauholz, Rohöl, Kupfer bis hin zu Gold und Platin. Bei Finanztermingeschäften umfassen sie vor allem Devisen, Schuldverschreibungen wie Staatsanleihen und Termingeld sowie Aktien- und anderen Indizes. Bei Wetterderivaten ist der Basiswert dagegen die Tagestemperatur, Niederschlagsmenge oder Ähnliches. Die umsatzstärksten Finanzprodukte in Deutschland verwenden als Basiswert den US-Dollar, Bundesanleihen oder den DAX.
