Contradiction

Dans la logique classique, une contradiction consiste en une incompatibilité logique entre deux ou plusieurs propositions. Il se produit lorsque les propositions, prises ensemble, donnent deux conclusions qui forment les inversions logiques, généralement opposées l'une de l'autre. En illustrant une tendance générale dans la logique appliquée, la loi de non-contradiction d'Aristote stipule que «on ne peut pas dire quelque chose qu'il est et que ce n'est pas dans le même sens et en même temps». Par extension, en dehors de la logique classique, on peut parler de contradictions entre les actions quand on suppose que leurs motifs se contredisent.
