Retraite

La retraite est le moment où une personne arrête complètement l'emploi. Une personne peut également se retirer en réduisant les heures de travail. Beaucoup de gens choisissent de prendre leur retraite lorsqu'ils sont admissibles à des prestations de retraite privées ou publiques, bien que certains soient obligés de prendre leur retraite lorsque les conditions physiques ne permettent plus à la personne de travailler ou à la suite d'une législation concernant son poste. Dans la plupart des pays, l'idée de la retraite est d'origine récente, introduite à la fin du XIXe et au début du 20e siècle. Auparavant, la faible espérance de vie et l'absence de régimes de retraite signifiaient que la plupart des travailleurs continuaient de travailler jusqu'à la mort. L'Allemagne a été le premier pays à présenter sa retraite en 1889. Aujourd'hui, les pays les plus développés possèdent des systèmes permettant de subvenir aux besoins des retraités dans la vieillesse, qui peuvent être parrainés par les employeurs et / ou l'État. Dans de nombreux pays plus pauvres, le soutien à l'ancien est encore principalement fourni par la famille. Aujourd'hui, la retraite avec une pension est considérée comme un droit du travailleur dans de nombreuses sociétés, et de longues batailles idéologiques, sociales, culturelles et politiques se sont battues sur la question de savoir si c'est un droit.
