Satire

La satire est un genre de littérature, et parfois des arts graphiques et artistiques, dans lesquels les vices, les folies, les abus et les faiblesses sont censés être ridiculisés, idéalement dans l'intention d'enlever les individus, les entreprises, le gouvernement ou la société elle-même. Bien que la satire soit habituellement conçue pour être humoristique, son but majeur est souvent la critique sociale constructive, l'utilisation de l'esprit comme arme et comme un outil pour attirer l'attention sur des problèmes particuliers et plus vastes dans la société. Une caractéristique de la satire est une ironie ou un sarcasme fort: «dans la satire, l'ironie est militante», mais la parodie, le burlesque, l'exagération, la juxtaposition, la comparaison, l'analogie et le double sens sont souvent utilisés dans le discours et l'écriture satiriques. Cette ironie ou sarcasme «militant» prétend souvent approuver les choses que le satiriste veut attaquer. La Satire se trouve aujourd'hui dans de nombreuses formes d'expression artistique, y compris la littérature, les pièces de théâtre, les commentaires, les émissions de télévision et les médias tels que les paroles.
