În contextul biochimiei, aviditatea se referă la rezistența acumulată a multiplelor afinități ale interacțiunilor individuale de legare necovalentă, cum ar fi între un receptor proteic și ligandul său, și este în mod obișnuit denumit afinitate funcțională. Astfel, aviditatea este diferită de afinitate, care descrie puterea unei singure interacțiuni.
