Epistolă
O epistolă este scrisă sau trimisă unei persoane sau unui grup de oameni, de obicei o scrisoare didactică elegantă și formală. Genul epistolului de scriere a scrisorilor era obișnuit în Egiptul antic ca parte a curriculumului scris al școlii scribale. Literele din Noul Testament de la apostoli la creștini sunt de obicei menționate ca epistole. Cele atribuite în mod tradițional lui Pavel sunt cunoscute sub numele de epistole pauline, iar altele ca epistole catolice.
