O orchestra este un ansamblu instrumental mare care conține secțiuni de instrumente de șir, alamă, lemn și percuție. Termenul de orchestră derivă din ecumenismul grecesc, numele zonei în fața unei scene grecești antice rezervate pentru corul grecesc.
