Al doilea eolian este un fenomen de alergare la distanță, cum ar fi maratonul sau rularea pe drum, prin care un atlet care este prea respirabil și obosit să continue brusc găsește puterea de a apăsa la performanțele de vârf cu mai puțină efort. Alții susțin că al doilea vânt se datorează producției de endorfine, în timp ce alții cred că este pur psihologic. Experiențele documentate ale celui de-al doilea vânt se întorc cel puțin 100 de ani, când a fost considerat un exercițiu frecvent susținut. Fenomenul a ajuns să fie folosit ca o metaforă pentru a continua cu energia reînnoită trecând de la punctul considerat a fi primul, fie în alte sporturi, cariere sau în viața în general.
