Un stil este o structură care oferă oamenilor un pasaj prin sau peste un gard sau o limită prin trepte, scări sau goluri înguste. Stilurile sunt adesea construite în zonele rurale sau de-a lungul căilor de trecere pentru a permite accesul la un câmp sau zonă adiacentă, separate de un gard, de perete sau de gard viu. Spre deosebire de o poarta, nu exista nici o sansa de a uita sa o inchizi, iar daca stilul se va sparge, gardul va ramane intact. Cu toate acestea, stilele pot fi dificil de utilizat pentru anumite persoane cu dizabilități și pentru persoanele cu mobilitate limitată.
