Sock
A sock, sock, sock or sock is a garment for the foot, designed in order to warm it, absorb its sweat, protect it from dirt and scratches and relieve rubbing with footwear. The socks are designed to be worn with footwear that covers the entire foot, such as sports shoes, boots or dress shoes. Sometimes they wear sandals and slippers. Socks can also be worn alone, usually indoors. Normally, the socks are made of cotton, wool, or nylon. They are manufactured in various colors, but are typically dark for formal attire and white for sporty or casual attire. White long socks. The length of the socks varies, from covering only the foot, to the level of the knee. In the United States, short socks have become popular for use with sports shoes, especially among teenagers and young adults. In Uruguay, Argentina, and other South American countries, the sock is called the short sock, which covers little more than the ankle.
