WHAT DOES CIFELA MEAN IN SPANISH?

Cifela

A cipher is a histological structure present in lichenized fungi of the genus Sticta that have the function of facilitating the gaseous exchange between the gonads of the marrow and the surface. The term was coined by Erik Acharius in 1810 in his work "Lichenografia universalis" and although it was used by William Nylander in "Énumération générale des lichens, avec l'indication sommaire de leur géographique" to define both ciphers and pseudocifels their meaning Was bounded by the Finnish author himself in 'Prodromus expositionis lichenum Novae Caledoniae' as used today. The cilia are formed by small depressions of the cortex with a narrow pore delimited by special fungal cells. These cells, more rounded than those of the cortex, are laxly packaged allowing the entry of CO2 into the interior. They have a concave shape, more or less concave, appear on the underside of the thallus and very rarely on the upper face.
