palmistry
Chirology or chirognomony, a discipline considered as a pseudo-science, studies the correlations between the shape of the hand or the folds of its skin and certain physical, psychic and mental tendencies. At the end of the nineteenth century, a true evolution took place and palmistry, a divinatory art, gave way to palmistry, under the impulse of Captain D'Arpentigny and Adolphe Desbarolles who laid down the basic rules and a classification of types of hands. In order to approach this study, we must establish a theoretical basis, which corresponds to scientific requirements. The scientific basis of this discipline, which is still very little explored, could refer to Von Bertalanfy's theory of systems, genetics, the study of the effect of repetitive hand movements on his appearance, known consequences of various vascular, nervous or endocrine diseases, to the effects of food overloads or deficiencies, etc. The exterior appearance, shape, color of the hand and nails, length and flexibility of each finger are important details for the chirologist.
