QUE SIGNIFIE EXPATRIATE EN ANGLAIS

Expatrié

Un expatrié est une personne résidant temporairement ou en permanence dans un pays autre que celui de l'éducation de la personne. Le mot vient des termes latins ex et patria. Dans l'usage courant, le terme est souvent utilisé dans le contexte de professionnels ou de travailleurs qualifiés envoyés à l'étranger par leurs entreprises, plutôt que pour tous les «immigrants» ou «travailleurs migrants». La différenciation trouvée dans l'usage commun se limite généralement à des facteurs socio-économiques, de sorte que les professionnels qualifiés travaillant dans un autre pays sont décrits comme des expatriés, alors qu'un travailleur manuel qui a déménagé dans un autre pays pour gagner plus d'argent pourrait être qualifié de «immigrant" ouvrier immigré'. Il n'y a pas de définition définie et l'utilisation varie selon le contexte, par exemple, la même personne peut être considérée comme un «expatrié» par son pays d'origine et un «travailleur migrant» où ils travaillent. La retraite à l'étranger, en revanche, fait habituellement un «expatrié».
