Plâtre

Le plâtre est un matériau de construction utilisé pour revêtir les murs et les plafonds. Le plâtre est fabriqué sous la forme d'une poudre sèche et est mélangé à de l'eau pour former une pâte lorsqu'il est utilisé. La réaction avec l'eau libère de la chaleur par cristallisation et le plâtre hydraté durcit alors. Le plâtre peut être travaillé relativement facilement avec des outils métalliques ou même du papier de verre. Ces caractéristiques rendent le plâtre adapté à une finition, plutôt qu'un matériau porteur. Le terme de plâtre peut se référer au plâtre de gypse, au plâtre de citron ou au plâtre de ciment.
