(a)coperi, (a)menința, (a)mesteca etc. Pierderea lui
f-, prin intermediul unei faze
h-, este normală în fața lui

hireș etc. Cihac, II, 660 (urmat de DAR și Scriban) pleacă de la
ngr. φυραίνω, aorist φύραισα „a se micșora”, care pare a se potrivi și mai puțin, formal și semantic.

ierosi „a consacra” ‹
ngr. ἰερώνω (care este forma simplă de la
afierosi) nu pare probabilă, întrucît acest cuvînt nu a avut nici o circulație populară. –
