Regulamento municipal
Um regulamento administrativo é uma regra ou lei estabelecida por uma organização ou comunidade para se regular, conforme permitido ou previsto por alguma autoridade superior. A autoridade superior, geralmente uma legislatura ou algum outro órgão governamental, estabelece o grau de controle que os estatutos podem exercer. Os estatutos podem ser estabelecidos por entidades como uma corporação comercial, uma associação de vizinhança ou, dependendo da jurisdição, um município. No Reino Unido, no Canadá e em alguns países da Commonwealth, as leis locais estabelecidas pelos municípios são referidas como estatutos, porque seu escopo é regulado pelos governos centrais desses países. Consequentemente, um oficial de imposição de lei é o equivalente canadense do American Code Enforcement Officer ou Municipal Regulations Enforcement Officer. Nos Estados Unidos, o governo central não tem capacidade direta para regular o alcance das leis aprovadas pelos municípios.
