Um tontine / tɒntin / é um plano de investimento para a captação de capital, concebido no século 17 e relativamente difundido nos séculos 18 e 19. Ele combina características de uma anuidade grupal e uma loteria. Cada assinante paga uma soma acordada no fundo e, posteriormente, recebe uma anuidade. À medida que os membros morrem, suas ações são transferidas para os outros participantes, pelo que aumenta o valor de cada anuidade. Com a morte do último membro, o regime está encerrado.
