Virginitate
Virginitatea este starea unei persoane care nu sa implicat niciodată în relații sexuale. Există tradiții culturale și religioase care acordă o valoare și o importanță deosebită acestui stat, mai ales în cazul femeilor necăsătorite, asociate cu noțiuni de puritate personală, onoare și valoare. Ca și castitate, conceptul de virginitate a implicat, în mod tradițional, abstinența sexuală înainte de căsătorie și apoi să se angajeze în acte sexuale numai cu partenerul căsătoriei. Conceptul de virginitate implică de obicei probleme morale sau religioase și poate avea consecințe în ceea ce privește statutul social și relațiile interpersonale. Termenul de fecioară inițial sa referit doar la femeile neexperimentate sexual, dar a evoluat pentru a cuprinde o serie de definiții, așa cum se întâlnesc în conceptele tradiționale, moderne și etice. Persoanele heterosexuale pot sau nu pot considera pierderea virginității doar prin penetrarea penisului vaginal, în timp ce persoanele de alte orientări sexuale includ adesea sexul oral, sexul anal sau masturbarea reciprocă în definițiile lor de a-și pierde virginitatea.
