WHAT DOES LEYENDA MEAN IN SPANISH?

Legend

A legend is a narration of natural, supernatural or mixed facts, which is transmitted from generation to generation in oral or written form. Generally, the story is inaccurately situated between the myth and the true event, which gives it a certain uniqueness. It is located in a time and place that are familiar to the members of a community, which contributes to the story a certain likelihood. In legends that have supernatural elements, such as miracles, presence of creatures from the sea or from the past, these are presented as real, because they are part of the vision of the world of the community in which the legend originates. In its process of transmission through the oral tradition, legends often experience deletions, additions or modifications, resulting in a whole world full of variants. Legend is defined as a folkloric narrative with historical bases. A modern professional definition has been proposed by the folklorist Timothy R.
