Tabou
Un tabou est une interdiction véhémente d'une action fondée sur la conviction qu'un tel comportement est soit trop sacré, soit trop maudit pour que les individus ordinaires entreprennent, sous la menace d'une punition surnaturelle. De telles interdictions sont présentes dans pratiquement toutes les sociétés. Le mot a été quelque peu élargi dans les sciences sociales à de fortes interdictions relatives à toute zone d'activité humaine ou personnalisée qui est sacrée ou interdite sur la base du jugement moral et des croyances religieuses. «Briser un tabou» est habituellement considéré comme répréhensible par la société en général, et non pas seulement par un sous-ensemble d'une culture.
