Tail

La queue est la section à l'arrière du corps d'un animal; En général, le terme se réfère à un appendice distinct et flexible au torse. C'est la partie du corps qui correspond approximativement au sacrum et au coccyx chez les mammifères, les reptiles et les oiseaux. Alors que les queues sont avant tout une caractéristique des vertébrés, certains invertébrés, y compris les scorpions et les springtails, ainsi que les escargots et les limaces, ont des appendices en queue qui sont parfois appelés queues. Les objets à queue sont parfois appelés «caudate» et la partie du corps associée ou proximale à la queue reçoit l'adjectif «caudal». The tail is the section at the rear end of an animal's body; in general, the term refers to a distinct, flexible appendage to the torso. It is the part of the body that corresponds roughly to the sacrum and coccyx in mammals, reptiles, and birds. While tails are primarily a feature of vertebrates, some invertebrates including scorpions and springtails, as well as snails and slugs, have tail-like appendages that are sometimes referred to as tails. Tailed objects are sometimes referred to as "caudate" and the part of the body associated with or proximal to the tail are given the adjective "caudal".
