O vierme este un organ de absorbție a nutrienților cu care o plantă sau o ciupercă poate absorbi substanțe cum ar fi apa sau substanțele nutritive dintr-o altă parte a persoanei proprii sau dintr-un organism străin. Ciupercile parazitare penetrează haustoria în celulele gazdă. ▪ În cazul mușchilor, piciorul sporogonului se numește grădina casei. Cu ea stă Sporogonul din Gametophyten și primește din acest nutrient. ▪ Embrionul plantelor de ferigă formează de asemenea un picior, numit houseorium, cu care este plasat în protaliu. ▪ În embriologia celei mai obscure, există hemoragii formate din părți ale embrionului, embrionului sau endospermului.
