Public
Dans les relations publiques et les sciences de la communication, les publics sont des groupes de personnes individuelles, et le public est la totalité de ces groupements. C'est un concept différent du concept sociologique de l'Öffentlichkeit ou de la sphère publique. Le concept de public a également été défini dans les sciences politiques, la psychologie, le marketing et la publicité. Dans les relations publiques et les sciences de la communication, c'est l'un des concepts les plus ambigus sur le terrain. Bien qu'il ait des définitions dans la théorie du domaine qui a été formulée à partir du début du 20ème siècle, elle a souffert au cours des dernières années d'être floue, en raison de la confusion de l'idée d'un public avec les notions d'audience, de marché Segment, communauté, circonscription et parties prenantes. Le nom «public» provient du latin «populus» ou «poplicus» et, en général, indique une population de masse en association avec une question d'intérêt commun. Ainsi, dans la science politique et l'histoire, un public est une population d'individus en association avec des affaires civiques ou des affaires de bureau ou d'état. Dans la psychologie sociale, le marketing et les relations publiques, un public a une définition plus situationnelle.
