Accident vascular cerebral

Un accident vascular cerebral, denumit uneori un accident cerebrovascular, o insuficiență cerebrovasculară sau un atac cerebral colocvial, este pierderea funcției creierului din cauza unei perturbări a alimentării cu sânge a creierului. Această tulburare se datorează fie ischemiei, fie hemoragiei. Ischemia este cauzată fie de blocarea unui vas de sânge prin tromboză sau embolie arterială, fie prin hipoperfuzie cerebrală. Accidentul hemoragic este cauzat de sângerarea vaselor de sânge ale creierului, fie direct în parenchimul creierului, fie în spațiul subarahnoid din jurul țesutului cerebral. Ca urmare, zona afectată a creierului nu poate funcționa normal, ceea ce ar putea duce la imposibilitatea de a mișca unul sau mai multe membre pe o parte a corpului, de a nu înțelege sau de a formula discursuri sau de a afecta vederea pe o parte a imaginii vizuale camp. Un accident vascular cerebral este o urgență medicală și poate provoca leziuni neurologice permanente sau deces. Factorii de risc pentru accident vascular cerebral includ vârsta înaintată, tensiunea arterială ridicată, accidentul vascular cerebral anterior sau atacul ischemic tranzitor, diabetul, colesterolul ridicat, fumatul și fibrilația atrială. Tensiunea arterială ridicată este cel mai important factor de risc modificabil al accidentului vascular cerebral.
