Worship

Culto

The cult is one of the exoteric manifestations of a religion, although some manifestations of it can be reserved to the initiates and, therefore, to belong to esoterism. The cult is part of the obligations whose negligence is called impiety. In non-dogmatic religions, the practice of law takes on this exoteric character. In religion, the reading of their sacred texts or the recitation of their myths, the elaboration of their theology by way of particular hermeneutic rules, such as the personal faith of their faithful, belong to esotericism. They may be, according to religions, the following set of items or a choice among them: ▪ first, more or less symbolic sacrifices; ▪ prayers and psalms, hymns or chants ▪ creation of pious images icons or idols. Pilgrimages, almsgiving, religious taxation, fasting are also aspects of worship, although they can not be included in the liturgical aspect; Belong to the domain of religious law.
