libertad

Freedom

Libertad

Freedom is the capacity of the human being to act according to his own will, throughout his life. According to definitions 2, 3 and 4 of this term in the dictionary of the SAR, the state of freedom defines the situation, circumstances or conditions of those who are not slave, nor subject, nor impeded the desire of others in a coercive way. In other words, that which allows man to decide whether he wants to do something or not, makes him free, but also responsible for his actions. For freedom implies a clear choice for good and evil, only from this option would be acting from the conception of teleology. The fifth meaning of the term defines freedom as the "faculty enjoyed in well-governed nations to do and say whatever is not opposed to laws or good manners." Based on this, the protection of interpersonal freedom is the subject of social and political research. The metaphysical foundation of inner freedom is a psychological and philosophical question. Both forms of freedom are united in each individual as the internal and the external of a network of values, together in a dynamic of commitment.

Definition of libertad in the Spanish dictionary
