L'attention est le processus comportemental et cognitif de se concentrer sélectivement sur un aspect de l'environnement tout en ignorant d'autres choses. L'attention a également été appelée allocation des ressources de traitement. L'attention est l'un des sujets les plus intensément étudiés au sein de la psychologie, des neurosciences cognitives et de la neuropsychologie. L'attention reste un domaine majeur d'investigation au sein de l'éducation, de la psychologie, des neurosciences et de la neuropsychologie. L'attention a également des différences variationnelles entre cultures différentes. Les relations entre l'attention et la conscience sont suffisamment complexes pour justifier une exploration philosophique perpétuelle.
