Limba
Limba este capacitatea umană de a dobândi și utiliza sisteme complexe de comunicare, iar limba este un exemplu specific al unui astfel de sistem. Studiul științific al limbajului se numește lingvistică. Estimările numărului de limbi din lume variază între 6.000 și 7.000. Cu toate acestea, orice estimare precisă depinde de o distincție parțial arbitrară între limbi și dialecte. Limbile naturale sunt vorbite sau semnate, dar orice limbă poate fi codificată în medii secundare, utilizând stimuli auditivi, vizuale sau tactile - de exemplu, în scris, în braille sau în fluier.
